Priority Policy Issues

(Not in order of importance)

  • MHSA implementation (Mental Health system transformation), specifically:
    • Prevention
      • promotion of services and systems changes that support prevention - examples: behavioral health courts, advance directives, etc.
    • Consumer leadership and family involvement
  • Funding (ensure adequate resources for mental health)
    • monitor SF mental health budget
  • Housing and homelessness prevention
  • Access (mental health policy issues that support the removal of barriers to access to mental health services)
  • Criminal Justice system (from prevention to incarceration)
  • Stigma and discrimination (policies that reduce stigma and discrimination and promote mental health parity)
